Our Mission

We believe that everyone with Parkinson Disease should have continuous access to high quality exercise programs from diagnosis through their entire life.

There is substantial research that indicates that exercise can have a positive benefit on symptoms, quality of life, longevity, and may even be able to slow down the disease progression.

Throughout our 10+ years of experience working with this population, we have seen amazing improvements in how people feel and move. We are motivated to help as many people as possible to participate in this type of exercise.

With exercise what you do and how you do it is important. We are here to help you discover what is right for you, so that you can feel your best and live life to the fullest.

Inspiration

Over the past 10 years working with individuals with Parkinson Disease, I have seen the amazing things that are possible with consistent, challenging, Parkinson-specific exercise. Here is one of my client’s experience:

54+

Parkinsons specific classes each week

We have 5 different types of classes ranging from Cardio, to PWR! Moves, Boxing and more!! We have different levels of classes catering to all athletic abilities.

We have 36 classes in person at our gym and 18 classes live on zoom each week!

150+

Individuals participating in classes and completing bi-annual assessments

"You can't improve what you don't measure."

Regular assessments are a cornerstone of the program. The assessments can help us determine when a bout of Physical Therapy is necessary, to set goals and to measure improvement over time!

We also have 200 online members from across the world!

430+

Total class attendance per week

Exercising 2.5 hours per week is associated with slower declines in people with Parkinsons.

Some class members attend one class per week (~1 hour ) and exercise on their own the other days. Others attend classes up to 5 days per week (~5+ hours)!

Exercise is dose responsive, so the more you do, the more you benefit!

Services

Our main focus at Rogue is to offer a variety of Parkinson's specific exercise classes, to allow for the most access with the least amount of out of pocket expenditure. After enrolling in the first, each additional class can be added at a discounted rate.

We also offer individual wellness exercise sessions. These are ideal for individuals who prefer working with someone 1 on 1 rather then in a class setting. These sessions may also be ideal for those with more physical or cognitive limitations.

Although the classes and individual sessions are taught by a physical therapist (unless noted), this is not physical therapy. The classes and individual wellness are recommended to occur following physical therapy, or in addition to physical therapy.

Physical Therapy can be extremely helpful, but is often limited due to insurance restrictions. Rogue Physical Therapy & Wellness, Inc. was started to allow for continuous access to high quality exercise so that individuals can maximize their function and stay active in between bouts of physical therapy.
